RiverRun Rafting Itinerary – High Adventure

Arrival & Evenings

Arrive to our base resort the night prior to your rafting day. Check-in and register then proceed to our campground to set up camp or one of our accommodations that you reserved when booking. Your will be given a map of the property and be required to sign a waiver of liability.

Enjoy the evening campfire or enjoy an evening swim in our private bay. Saturday’s we offer live entertainment around the campfire or under our pavilion. Volleyball and half-court basket ball are lit up for nightly games. We do have a licensed bar and store for your needs.

Note-If you are planning to arrive before 5pm you can add a dinner by advance reservation or choose to eat out at local restaurants.

Day 1

Wetsuits & Registration opens 7.30 – 8am by the waterfront pavilion if you have any questions or wish to rent a wetsuit if weather conditions are less than perfect. Wetsuits should be rented before your safety briefing and we require a piece of photo ID to hold until wetsuits are returned after your trip.

A liability waiver will be required for you to sign if you did not sign one the night prior.

Then over to the pavilion for your home cooked breakfast!

Breakfast is included and served buffet style between 7.30 – 9am. We offer a hot meal along with bagels and cereals, juice, coffee and tea.

Safety First: Meet up with your trip leader for a full safety briefing and what you can expect during your trip. Then you will be instructed to get your equipment for your trip.

We provide lifejackets, helmets and paddles. Please be sure to see our “what to wear & bring” section of our website.

After boarding our buses and a short ride to our put-in property you will meet your guide for the day. Our guides are whitewater professionals that are highly skilled and trained for your safety. Our entertaining guides are hired, not only for their skills at whitewater but also to introduce you to the history of the Ottawa River.

As you board your raft you can already hear the thunder of the first set of rapids of McCoys Chute and the adrenaline starts to pump!

Part way down the river we will be stopping for a riverside lunch and short break. The Ottawa River water levels are controlled up-stream by a hydro electric dam so as the water levels change so do some of the other activities offered along the way. Try some body surfing in gentle whitewater or some cliff jumping…its optional and all part of the experience.

Your rafting day ends back at our resort property, where your car is, hot showers, sauna and dry clothes. The RiverRun advantage is that there are no bus rides or long pontoon rides after the last set of major rapids….our location is simply the best.

Our video crew has been shooting your trip all day and a complimentary re-run presentation (and maybe a Canadian beer from our pub) is a part of your day. Copies may be purchased on DVD.

Dinner is also buffet style served between 6-7.30 pm. Our menu offers one entrée option with healthy salads, dessert and beverages; everything is home cooked and using local products wherever possible. Vegetarian options must be pre-booked when making your reservations.

Evening: Free time to enjoy our resort property. Bring your hiking shoes for some fantastic woodland walking trails and scenic lookout….your likely to come across some creature of two along the way. Share your adventure stories with other guests at our main campfire; enjoy a sauna or a moonlight swim. Some quiet time after a busy day!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2015

My husband and I visited River Run last weekend to celebrate our 33rd anniversary.
We stayed 2 nights in the River Inn on site, rafted all day Saturday and left after breakfast on Sunday.
The entire experience was top notch! Our accommodation in the "Yellow Room" at the inn was spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable. The room had a lovely screened in porch surrounded by lush gardens that we thoroughly enjoyed.
The rafting experience surpassed any and all of my expectations! We did the Ultimate adventure package in the 6 person raft.
Our tour guide Martin was just exceptional. He is very experienced and knowledgeable. We sensed from the start that we were in very capable hands.
Martin was very safety conscious but adapted the ride and level of risk to the tolerance of our group . He explained everything we were going to do before we did it and always clarified what was expected of each of us. He was patient and had a great sense of humour.
The rafting was definitely a challenge - lots of paddling and plenty of swimming for a gal my age but overall it was totally exhilarating!
We really enjoyed with our raft mates too - it was fun going overboard with Clinton, Samantha, Annie and Sean!
Overall this was an excellent adventure that I'm so glad we signed up for.
Big thanks to Martin and all of the great staff at River Run for a very memorable experience.
